Why?
New Year’s resolutions don’t often go past March. Each year I struggle to keep mine and by summer, I literally forget some of them, but when fall comes it often feels like a reset—a chance to revive lost resolutions.
One area of focus is improvement of my illustration skills. Fall is packed with illustration challenges more than any other time of year. Drawing challenges like Inktober, SCBWI Artober, and Huevember are fun, inspirational and strengthen drawing skills. We know the what behind those, but not the why.
A major area of focus is health and wellness— which has been a passion of mine for several years. After watching numerous health documentaries, listening to thousands of hours of health podcasts, and researching health topics in school, I’ve been sharing what I hear/learn with others. (My friends and family sometimes get annoyed.)
Health and wellness related resolutions make the top of the list for most people each year. I want to share what I’ve learned so far and also encourage others to draw—a lost art that’s calming and therapeutic, even if you’re not artistic.
